What happens if the deadline to submit an application is missed?
Application windows are open year-round, but cohorts start three times per year (Summer, Fall, Winter). Applicants may interview at any time. However, applicants will have to wait until the next ‘RN New Graduate Resident’ cohort begins to start as an RN.
What should I expect if selected for an interview?
Upon successful application into the hiring system software, a cover letter and resume should be uploaded online. Once selected for an interview, you will receive further direction regarding the interview process.
If a position is offered to a non-BSN RN New Graduate Resident, will they be expected to complete a BSN?
UAMS RN New Graduate Residents are highly encouraged to complete their BSN degree within three years of hire. The U of A system’s 50% tuition discount is available towards undergraduate degrees for full-time employees after working one complete spring or fall semester. For more information, go to Tuition Discount.
How long will orientation be?
All RN New Graduate Residents should plan for three full weeks of classroom time as of their start date. The length of the unit/area-specific orientation will be dependent upon the specialty. Transition to Practice (TTP) workshops/seminars will be integrated into the first 12 months of employment, and all TTP requirements must be completed prior to advancing from Resident to RN 1 status.
