Paige Womack, Clinical Specialist,
H8 – Neurology/Neurosurgery
Paige was nominated by Dees Davis, with supporting statements from multiple staff members

Paige Womack, Clinical Specialist, H8 - Neurology/Neurosurgery

Paige Womack has successfully fulfilled the role of Clinical Specialist on H8 for seven years. She is very knowledgeable and considered an expert in neurology. She is thorough and detail-oriented and always completes things before the deadline. Paige develops and implements new graduate orientation plans and individualizes them for each new graduate RN resident on H8. She educates staff related to patient care, policy, and procedures. She holds in-services for our travel staff in order to make them feel more comfortable with situations specific to our patient population, such as lumbar drains, SEEG, dysphagia screenings, and stroke education and documentation.

Paige is the ultimate educational resource for both H8 and for those working to stay in compliance with TJC standards to continue as a Comprehensive Stroke Center throughout the hospital. Nurses interviewed by TJC surveyors reported a great deal of confidence in their ability to speak as a result of the preparation and support given to them by Paige through her educational tracers in preparation for site visit.

Paige is instrumental in providing leadership and education on many levels within nursing at UAMS. She is not only a valuable asset to the Comprehensive Stroke Program but her commitment to excellence in providing evidenced based knowledge for nursing practice spans policies and education throughout the institution. Paige has a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the care of patients with neurological conditions/disorders and has been involved in the creation and revision of policies and procedures as well as educating staff on the current standards of care and guidelines. She is a trusted resource for the nurses as well as leadership. She is helpful, kind, and thoughtful in her responses, participation, and collaboration.
