Professional Development – RN IV/V

RN IV

Achieving RN IV means the clinical nurse has proven they are an expert in their designated specialty and are going above and beyond their regularly scheduled work hours to improve patient care at UAMS. RN IVs hold a baccalaureate degree or higher in nursing and hold a national certification in their specialty.

Here are the forms needed to apply to become an RN IV and to Renew once you are an RN IV.

RN V

The RN V role is at the top of the UAMS Clinical Ladder. RN Vs hold a graduate or doctoral degree in nursing and a national certification. RN Vs have proven they are an expert in their designated specialty and are going above and beyond their regularly scheduled work hours to improve patient care.

RN IV/V Workshops

Workshops are designed to support the professional development of RN IVs and RN Vs through continuing education and leadership activities. Workshops also build comradery for nurses in the role who are dedicated to advancing the practice of nursing and the outcomes of patients.

First Quarter

Portfolio Deadline to the CNE: Friday, March 10th, 2023

Review Board Meeting: Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm

Second Quarter

Portfolio Deadline to the CNE: Friday June 9th, 2023

Review Board Meeting: Monday, June 19th, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm

Third Quarter

Portfolio Deadline to the CNE: Friday, September 8th, 2023

Review Board Meeting: Monday, September 22nd, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm

Fourth Quarter

Portfolio Deadline to the CNE: Friday December 1st, 2023

Review Board Meeting: Monday, December 11th, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm
