Magnet

Journey to Excellence

Magnet is a designation given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). It is the highest distinction of nursing excellence. It signifies that an organization has taken every effort to promote the empowerment, engagement, and development of nurses, which leads to high quality outcomes, improved patient satisfaction and highly satisfied employees. UAMS in on a mission of becoming a Magnet designated organization.

Timeline

UAMS submitted an application to the ANCC February 01, 2022! We are now in a two-year time period of collecting and capturing narratives and evidence of Nursing Excellence and positive patient outcomes. This evidence will be submitted in a final document in February 2024, with a plan to Magnet Designation Award in late 2024 to early 2025.
