Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Jeanelle, RN IV, for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of May!
Jeanelle Foreman, RN IV, E6 – High Risk Perinatal, and was nominated by a patient. The nomination below reflects how Jeanelle impacted their life in a very special way.
Nomination: Two years ago, I had an extended stay at UAMS. I will never forget it. I think about that time often. And Jeanelle was one of the nurses that will never leave my mind. I recall being curled up in a ball in so much pain, trying to explain how I felt. Jeanelle was patient with me. Encouraged me to get up and make progress. After her interventions, I immediately felt better and was able to get the help I needed to make further progress to discharge. She was so kind. She came in with a smile on her face every time she interacted with me. She paid attention to me enough to know when I needed extra attention, even if I didn’t have the energy to explain how I felt. Without her, I likely would have gotten worse over time and refused to get out of bed. Jeanelle is so kind to everyone she meets. She was truly called to be in the role she was in. I am so glad she took the time to get to know me as a person. She greatly influenced me to be a nurse and encouraged me to begin my journey here at UAMS as a student. One of the best decisions ever made. I appreciate her and her guidance. It truly felt like a full circle moment after reuniting with her during a clinical experience and discovering that she remembered me! Absolutely love the light that she is! Thank you, Mrs. Jeanelle!
Great job, Jeanelle!
