Sameer Lakhani, RN, Float Pool – MedSurg
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Sameer Lakhani, RN, for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of March!
Sameer Lakhani, RN, Float Pool – MedSurg, and was nominated by a Family Member of a Patient. The nomination below reflects how Sameer impacted their lifes in a very special way.
Nomination:
Psalm 30:2 “Lord God, we called for help, and you helped me”
Sameer arrived for his shift on F-9, instantly got the handoff report, and started patient rounds. Sameer was God-sent, very respectful and professional.
Our family member was given a bed bath and a shampoo cap for the first time since being provided with a hospital room. Sameer helped our family member get situated by repositioning them, pulling them up in bed, checking equipment, and making sure our family member was overall comfortable. Our family member was more comfortable than I have seen them, looking peaceful and relaxed.
UAMS is very BLESSED to have Sameer as an RN. I have worked in healthcare for 7 years. I know there are differences in days, nights, and shifts. You must have the heart, passion, and patience to work in healthcare. It isn’t just a paycheck, it’s a ministry, and a calling. I love what I do and the care I can provide every day.
One evening, I witnessed firsthand the very heart of what I love doing – just like Sameer – a beacon of light! Sameer talked me through the questions I asked concerning our family member and did everything I asked him to do for our family member. Sameer often checked in on both our family member and us.
We, the family, could not be more thankful for the work Sameer does every day and night, fearlessly serving others without putting himself first. Sameer exemplifies what a real-life hero is, and we truly would not feel the comfort we did if it weren’t for such skilled and caring individuals as Sameer.
I hope this message gives UAMS a lot to be proud of, because “Thank You” will never be enough for the history you, as a hospital, are part of today, WITHOUT RNs like Sameer.
While he saves lives, may God take care of everything else. Once again, our family is grateful, thankful, and blessed that Sameer came into our lives and provided such exceptional care.
Thank you, Sameer!
