Cynthia Onstott, RN – Neurosciences Movement Disorder Clinic
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Cynthia Onstott, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of February!
Cynthia works in Neurosciences Movement Disorder Clinic and was nominated by a patient’s family member. The nomination below reflects how Cynthia impacted their life in a very special way.
“After my husband’s diagnosis, he needed a medication that was a specialty drug and was unbelievably out of sight pricewise. Knowing my husband absolutely needed this medication, I didn’t know what to do. I had never faced needing a medication that was so expensive. Cynthia immediately eased my mind and began working on the insurance and putting me in touch with an agency that would help with the copay. She, also, put me in contact with the drug company that provided a complimentary 6 weeks supply until everything else was completed. I didn’t know nurses would do that, but Cynthia did. She would always let me know what was going on during this time, and always promptly returned phone calls or messages on the patient portal. If she was going to be out of the office for a few days, she would tell me who I could contact, if I needed someone. My husband’s illness is such that I need to have the extra help Cynthia has always given me. He and I are so thankful for her.”
Great job, Cynthia!
