Nomination: I am thrilled to nominate Ashley Benton RN for the DAISY Award. As my colleague I knew Ashley provided exception patient centered care so it was no surprise to me when I needed care and I was blessed to have her as my nurse, Ashley that she would exemplify the core values of this prestigious recognition. Her unwavering commitment to patient care has left a lasting impact on me.
During a recent health issue, Ashley went above and beyond to coordinate numerous consultations, ensuring a holistic approach to my care. She checked on me routinely, keeping me informed and actively involved in my treatment decisions. Her dedication didn’t stop there.
Five days after a radiation procedure, I encountered a medical complication which happened on a weekend. Expecting to hear back the following business day, I sent a message through my chart seeking direction. To my surprise, Ashley promptly reached out, allaying my fears and taking immediate action. She ensured that all necessary testing and visits were set in motion that very Monday. Her quick action likely means the difference in complete loss of facial function and recovery of function to some degree. For me, that is life changing and something I will forever be grateful for.
Ashley’s compassion, proactive communication, and commitment to patient well-being truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award. Her impact extends far beyond her role as a nurse, and I am grateful for her exceptional care.
