Tonya Frazier, Equipment Tech, NICU
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Tonya Frazier – for being selected as the October BEE Award winner!
Tonya is an Equipment Tech in the NICU and was nominated by a co-worker. The following is the story of how Tonya impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Nomination: Tonya makes a difference every day in the life of staff and the babies. She is our equipment technician but has also cross trained to the front desk and milk lab. She is very meticulous in cleaning all the equipment for the babies. Most people don’t understand how important this position is. With her help the NICU went over 200 days without a CLABSI. She assists the nurses in getting admit beds and pumps in place in the rooms. She is always working extra when we have a need for any of the three areas she is trained to. She has such a welcoming and pleasant attitude when at the front desk. This is so important for the families when they come in. She goes above and beyond to ensure they get what they need. She is such a light to the unit and brings everyone’s spirits up when they are having a bad day. She is one of the hardest workers I know. She is very deserving of this award.
