May 2023 BEE Award

Lesa Robinson, Patient Service Associate on the H8 - Neurology/Neurosurgery

Lesa Robinson, Patient Service Associate on the H8 – Neurology/Neurosurgery

Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Lesa Robinson for being selected as the May BEE Award winner!

Lesa is a Patient Service Associate and was nominated by a UAMS employee. The following is the story of how Lesa impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.

Lesa has been with UAMS for 22 years. She is an integral part of H8. Lesa goes well above and beyond her role at the desk. She takes new RNs/PCTs/residents and pulled staff under her wing to show them how the floor is run and answer any questions they might have. She is constantly making sure that our patients receive their trays in a timely manner and are given feeding assistance when needed. She assists with ensuring rooms are cleaned appropriately for new admissions. Lesa assists in tracking down equipment such as computers, rovers, and voceras when we need more and have misplaced them. Lesa checks our supplies and helps order more when needed. She even helps keep a close eye on our most impulsive patients. Because of her helpfulness, she has recruited staff to pick up overtime on our unit from other floors during our staffing crisis…they know she will have their back if they work here! That is a testament to the help she provides others. Just last week, Lesa even spent an hour with a patient who had a stocking cap glued tightly to her scalp and needed help removing so she could have an important EEG done. Lesa took her time so she would not hurt the patient. Lesa notices all the minor details that can potentially lead to major problems with running the floor smoothly if not addressed. She works 6 days a week every single week and stays over her required time on many shifts. We would not be able to provide the quality care required for our stroke patients if it weren’t for Lesa. We are so lucky to have her.

Way to go Lesa!

Please congratulate Lesa for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
