Maggie Mencer is a Occupational Therapist in the Occupational Therapy Inpatient Department
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Maggie Mencer – for being selected as the June BEE Award winner!
Maggie Mencer is a Occupational Therapist in the Occupational Therapy Inpatient Department and was nominated by a co-worker. The following is the story of how Maggie impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Nomination: Maggie is an incredible asset to the care team of our trauma patients. She works so hard to help rehab these patients to set them up for success after discharge.
Recently we had a patient who was admitted between F4 and H4 for several months, minimally able to do anything for herself. Maggie was a crucial part of her recovery. Because she was a constant source of encouragement, this patient was able to discharge from the hospital, went on to LTAC, and from there went to Rehab./
A couple weeks ago this patient was discharged from rehab, came to campus for a follow up visit, then WALKED onto F4 to personally thank her nurses and therapists that never gave up on her.
This patient is one of many stories I could tell you who greatly benefited from Maggie’s hard work and giving heart, and we are so encouraged as a unit when we see her coming in to work with our patient population as we know they are in the best hands!
Way to go Maggie!
Please congratulate Maggie for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
