Oties Ross, Access Coordinator III – Jones Eye Institute

Oties is an Access Coordinator III for the Jones Eye Institute and was nominated by a co-worker. The following is the story of how Oties impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Mr. Oties is absolutely amazing!
He ALWAYS assist without question.
He is ALWAYS patient.
He works on our access team and trains all new hires; as well as, taking care of the patient’s needs (checking in/checking out) But much more than this…
If a patient has any need…he tends to it or if he cannot…he alerts the correct staff members
He is one of the finest coworkers I have every had to privilege to work with ..
Most recently, we had an emergency situation and we had to call 911
Mr. Oties took the “code card” and followed all the instructions to the letter. EMS arrived quickly, demographic sheet was already printed, supervisor was notified, security was notified. He did a fantastic job.
He also prevents errors by asking clarifying questions regarding patient return appointment needs, etc.
I wish each department at UAMS had a Mr. Oties!
