June 2020 BEE Award

Sean Thompson, Patient Services Associate – PRI

Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Sean Thompson for being selected as the June BEE Award winner!

Sean is a Patient Services Associate in PRI and was nominated by coworkers.  The following is the story of how Sean impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.

“Nominated by:  Coworker

Sean is such a pleasure to work with as he takes exceptional care of our patients and families.  He truly goes above and beyond.  In the mornings, he comes in, motivates the patients to get up for their AM care and routine, and helps to get their day started out right.  Sean is kind, friendly, and always smiles.  He is a self-motivator and rarely needs to be asked to perform a task as he is always one step ahead of the game.  Sean is always in a good mood no matter the circumstance and his positive attitude is contagious to those around him.  He motivates others to provide safe quality care to our patients, and is an exceptional asset to our patients, but more so to us, his coworkers.  He is always trying to build up team morale by setting the example of what it means to be a TRUE team player.  He organizes community outreaches, potlucks, and other staff engagement activities throughout the unit.  He is also part of the team that has initiated our new staff recognition program.  I cannot think of a more deserving individual for the Be Exceptional Everyday Award!  Sean is exceptional in every way and we are truly blessed to have him as part of our TEAM here in PRI.

Nominated by:  Coworkers

Sean puts the “C” in camaraderie.  He is consistent, helpful, and if he doesn’t know the answer, he will do everything in his power to find out.  He is enthusiastic and works long hours to make sure the unit is fully staffed to avoid potentially putting the staff and patients at risk.  Sean remains neutral and even toned when talking with our patients.  Regardless of our patient population, he always goes the extra mile for them.  You can sense his compassion for the patients in our area/unit.  He takes his time to make sure the patients are participating in their treatment plan.  Sean puts the “TEAM” in teamwork!  He looks out not only for the safety of the patients, but also for the safety of his coworkers.  He can turn a bad day into a great one just with his smile, enthusiasm, and contagious effort to promote teamwork and improve morale.  He makes you want to be a better person and a better caregiver.  To sum it all up, Sean is hardworking, dependable, helpful, and most of all respectful and compassionate.  He deserves the Be Exceptional Everyday Award because of his work ethic and inspiration to all of us to BEE the best we can be.  We are so very blessed to have him as part of our PRI team!”

Way to go Sean Thompson.

Please congratulate Sean for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
