July 2025 BEE Award

Tasha Amos is a Patient Care Technician in the H9 – Medical/Surgical Unit (Solid Organ Transplantation)

Tasha Amos is a Patient Care Technician in the H9 – Medical/Surgical Unit (Solid Organ Transplantation)

Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Tasha Amos – for being selected as the July BEE Award winner!

Tasha Amos is a Patient Care Technician in the H9 – Medical/Surgical Unit (Solid Organ Transplantation) and was nominated by a Family Member of a Patient & Patient. The following is the story of how Tasha impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.

1st Nomination: Tasha consistently goes above and beyond to support her coworkers. She is a very valuable asset to UAMS and the nursing department.

First, she is dedicated and hardworking. She is extremely organized and focused on continuously learning and developing best practices to properly care for her patients—both efficiently and effectively.

My father was a patient on H9 for a month after undergoing major surgery. Tasha entered the room every morning with a smile and an encouraging word. She was like a ray of sunshine that my father needed. She pushed him to his limit in the best way.

Being a retired EMT, I know how overwhelming the stress can be, but it didn’t seem to bother Tasha at all. Even on days when she wasn’t assigned to my father, she always came to check on him, my brother, and me. For that, I’m very grateful. She didn’t have to do what she did, but it was incredibly uplifting. My family was very pleased with the level of care she displayed daily.

She is no longer just our Patient Care Tech—now, she is Cousin Tasha. She has a servant’s heart, and we need more people like her.

Tasha Amos’ dedication and commitment to the H9 Solid Organ Transplant Nursing Staff is truly remarkable. She is always willing to go the extra mile, and her positive attitude and willingness to help others make her a valuable asset to UAMS Hospital.

I firmly believe that Tasha is a deserving candidate for the BEE Award. Her dedication, hard work, and positive impact on H9 make her an excellent role model for your hospital.

2nd Nomination: Tarshermika “Tasha” Amos is a Patient Care Tech who works on H9. She was my PCT when I was a patient there. She is a keeper and takes her job seriously. I have never met someone like her. She has a sweet and caring spirit.

Most of my caregivers just walked in and did not speak or anything — did not ask me how my day was or even ask if I needed anything.

Tasha came in every morning with a smile and a warm heart. She had a greeting that I remember in detail:

“Good morning, I’m Tasha. I’ll be your tech for today. If you would like a shower or sponge bath, just let me know. If you also would like your linen changed, I’ll do that as well. But for now, I’m here to get your vitals.”

I loved when she greeted me with such compassion. I was not just another person — she made me feel as if I was family.

She came in daily with a smile. Even when they were short-staffed, you could never tell by her attitude. Nothing but smiles and her warm heart.

Also, that week she was training another staff member. She was very detailed about the care she would be performing and explained step by step what she was doing. I knew then that she had been doing this for a while. She knew her job responsibilities and the nurse’s role as well.

When I see UAMS Hospital, I see Tasha. She is a keeper, and she needs to perform all training of new staff. They could learn a lot from her.

Way to go Tasha!

Please congratulate Tasha for Being Exceptional Ever
