Madalyn is a PCT at the Main Nurses Station on H4 – Trauma/SICU/CVICU and was nominated by a patient. The following is the story of how Madalyn impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Nomination: I want to recognize Madalyn Thompson on H4. She wasn’t my nurse but was my patient care tech after days of being intubated and in pain. I was also very anxious and scared, and she happened to be assisting one of the other nurses and trying to help me feel comfortable.
There was something special about her and she reminded me of my youngest daughter, just in the way she looked in her overall attitude and, she went out of her way to talk with me, for a little while, to help sooth me and calm my nerves, she even prayed with me. What I’m trying to say, she went outside of her job description to connect with someone, and she couldn’t have done it at a more perfect time. Madalyn gave me confidence and emotional support that I really needed at a very vulnerable time, and I am so genuinely thankful for that. She is an example to those around her. She has a rare gift with people, and she desires to become a nurse. I think she would truly impact lives in a positive way. Thank you so very much Madalyn Thompson!
