January 2021 BEE Award

BEEJaleesa Cummings, Surgical/Scrub Technician – Main OR

Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Jaleesa Cummings for being selected as the January BEE Award winner!

Jaleesa is a Surgical/Scrub Technician in the Main OR and was nominated by two (2) co-workers.  The following is the story of how Jaleesa impacted their lives in a way that they will never forget.

1st nomination – Co-worker

“Jaleesa is one of the scrub techs I work with on the nightshift in the OR and she has been instrumental in helping me ascertain equipment/supply knowledge during cases (especially traumas) as I came from a Cath Lab background.  While I was knowledgeable in circulating, the sheer amount of information necessary during weekend nights as the only in house OR nurse has been daunting to say the least.  She has helped me to grow my knowledge base exponentially not to mention being supportive.  I am blessed to have her as a teammate!”

2nd nomination – Co-worker

“Jaleesa saved the day during a hectic shift change.  We had a level 1 case that needed to come to the OR and the OR was not prepared to receive the patient at that time.  She jumped right into action and made the necessary calls to obtain the equipment and supplies in a timely manner.  We were able to get the patient taken care of expeditiously thanks to her efforts!”

Way to go Jaleesa Cummings.

Please congratulate Jaleesa for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
