Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Billy Trent – for being selected as the December BEE Award winner!
Billy Trent is a Patient Services Associate (PSA)/Mobility Tech in H8 – Neuroscience Progressive Care and was nominated by Co-workers and Family Members of a Patient. The following is the story of how Billy impacted their lives in a way that they will never forget.
Nomination #1:
I would like to take a few minutes to acknowledge the success of the mobility tech program that is specific to H8. On multiple occasions, I have had the opportunity to work with Billy Trent in assisting our spine patients who may have otherwise remained in bed.
This week was an especially meaningful example. We had a patient who has not been out of bed since 8/11/25 and is preparing to return to a SNF this week. Since his injury in August, he has struggled to assist much with transfers due to his weight bearing status. Recently, however, we learned that he is able to weight bear through his BUE. While PT was unable to dedicate time for slide board training given their full schedule, Billy stepped in without hesitation. He worked with the patient on multiple transfers, helping him regain a sense of independence.
The gratitude expressed by this young man was evident especially as he was able to go outside with his parents for the first time since his injury. I should also note that with each transfer, the patient’s progress and success have been more evident.
This is just one of many examples that highlight the value of the mobility tech program and the meaningful impact it has on our patients.
Nomination #2:
Billy has been and amazing addition to our team in his new role as the Mobility Tech. He’s very helpful and allows our patient to achieve more in their recovery due to his efforts. Specifically, I wanted to shout him out because he allowed us to get a patient into his family’s car to discharge home after utilizing a speech wheelchair and the Hoyer Lift. This patient was a total care with contractures, and we would not have been able to safely place him in the car without his assistance. He allowed us to not delay this patient’s discharge home to family.
Nomination #3:
Es una persona bondadosa professional
He is a kind/caring professional person.
Nomination #4:
When my mother was agitated, he lifted her spirits. He took her to the bathroom for me. He checks in on her when nobody else is able to. He just brightened a smile on the whole unit. He goes above and beyond what he is supposed to be doing which, we need more people like him.
Please congratulate Billy for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
Way to go Billy!
