Ashley Martin is a PSC in the F4 – Trauma Progressive Care and was nominated by a co-worker. The following is the story of how Ashley impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Nomination 1: Ashley was pulled to unit H6 to sit with one of our patients. On the morning of 1/10/25, the inclement weather policy was in effect. That night, I was the charge nurse, and due to it being bad weather, we had many staffing changes that morning. When some staff arrived, Ashley did inquire about the road conditions with day shift employees that arrived in the unit. In doing this, we discovered we live in the same subdivision about 25 miles from the hospital. I expressed all night that I was afraid to drive in snow and ice. Ashley stayed even when she could have just left when her relief arrived to offer me a ride home due to my fear. This was my first time meeting her and she not only gave excellent care to the patient all night, but she was also kind and caring enough to think about me. I really appreciated that and feel like she should be recognized for her kindness.
