New Graduate LPN Opportunities
UAMS is hiring New Graduate LPNs utilizing a ‘Blended Care Nursing Model’ on two (2) of our acute care units (Little Rock location only) and other ambulatory clinics statewide. Acute care positions are in the following areas:
- A4 Short Stay
- A7 Transition to Care

New LPN graduates accepting a position into the New Graduate LPN Residency, will be eligible to apply for reimbursement up to $500 for:
- NCLEX-LPN Examination
- NLCEX PN Review Course
Program Information
Applicable on designated Medical Surgical units only.
Position Specifics
- Individual unit offers for full-time positions – 72 hours per pay period
- 12 hour shifts – nights, days, or variable (based on unit need)
- Weekend Rotations (based on unit needs)
- Clinical Orientation – Specialized 3 weeks
- Unit Orientation – paired with Preceptors for several weeks depending on unit & progress.
Program Summary
- 12 month New Graduate LPN Resident Program
- LPN new resident classes will be held every other month during the first year to build nursing competency, knowledge, skills and attitudes
- Unit specific orientation activities along with experienced preceptors who provide support and guidance
- Mentoring and support for the new graduates’ professional well-being provided throughout the first year of practice
- Division nurse leaders coordinating additional observation experiences to match the unique patient population
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an LPN nursing program
- Permanent or temporary licensure to practice nursing in the State of Arkansas (by scheduled start date)
- Must have less than 12 months of LPN work experience
Requirements
- Online Application, Professional Resume & Cover Letter (upload as one document into the system upon application)
- Complete the 1-year LPN new resident program and all monthly classes required to advance through the Clinical Ladder. These classes are created to build nursing competencies, knowledge, skills and abilities.
