Catherine Prowse, RN, F5 – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Catherine Prowse, RN, for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of October!
Catherine Prowse, RN, works on F5 – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and was nominated by a family member of a patient. The nomination below reflects how Catherine impacted their life in a very special way.
Nomination: Today, I needed to leave to go home and get everything ready for our Ms. Eliza to come home. I had been crying off and on about the pull of needing to leave and get her new forever home ready or to stay because I have had so much anxiety about leaving her. I was beginning to have some separation anxiety and at that moment I looked at the app provided for us mothers. Nurse Catherine went above and beyond to let me know by leaving a sweet note that eased my anxiety tremendously. She has been outstanding and very on point in her job. As I work on my mental health, I believe it’s very important that NICU nurses listen and respect the parents dealing with such a hardship with any and every situation. Could be the difference of major postpartum depression or just hormones. I nominate her because she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable to go home and finish getting things ready for my baby girl’s home arrival and a night of sleep. Thank you and all your staff for caring for my baby girl. But this nurse stood out after being there 11 days.
Great job, Catherine!
