Kristi Campbell, RN – Cardiac Cath Lab
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Kristi Campbell, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of November!
Kristi Campbell works in the Cardiac Cath Lab and was nominated by a family member of a patient. The nomination below reflects how Kristi impacted their life in a very special way.
Nomination: Kristi was such a good nurse. She did everything she was supposed to but what made it above and beyond was the care she took of my mom even before she went to procedure. My mom is a difficult stick but Kristi was called to come over to the pre-surgery area and she got it immediately. Although her skills were great, her compassion was greater. My mom was nervous being a high-risk patient and my mom put her on the spot and asked her to pray with us before she took her back. She didn’t even hesitate, she grabbed my mom’s hand and said I’m ready when you are and gave her a smile. We all said a short prayer and she went back to the Cath Lab. I don’t know what happened in the procedure exactly but Kristi kept me updated every hour. After the procedure my mom said she held her hand and made sure she was not in any pain. Kristi even took the time to explain what was happening in each step to reassure my mom throughout the procedure. She made mine and my mom’s experience so much easier and better and we can’t thank her enough.
Great job, Kristi
