Millie Milton, RN – F4 – Trauma/Progressive Care
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Millie Milton, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of March!
Millie works on F4 – Trauma/Progressive Care and was nominated by a co-worker. The nomination below reflects how Mille impacted their life in a very special way.
“F4 can be a difficult floor to work on at times. Patients come in with many chronic and acute issues as well as recent traumas such as car collisions and gunshots. It can be physically and emotionally demanding. But if there is one person that merits recognition for their efforts, it is Millie Milton.
Millie is a headstrong woman that isn’t afraid of the tough work when it comes to the care of patients. She will work with patients to accomplish what is right for them. There have been times when a patient does not want to get up to the chair for instance, but Millie explains the importance of mobility in their health and recovery and works with the patient to accomplish their goals.
Millie is constantly on the move and she understands the importance of teamwork. She assists patients throughout the floor and helps co-workers. Millie takes great pride in her nursing and she is quick to reach out to others when she needs help also. When she is unfamiliar with something, she questions it. Millie is always eager to learn. Providing the best possible outcome for her patients is her priority.
Most importantly though, Millie has heart. Since COVID, patients don’t receive as many visitors and some don’t see anyone at all. It can be lonely. But Millie steps in and talks to patients like a friend she has known for years. It’s incredibly heartwarming to see how many spirits she has uplifted and lives that have been impacted. Her compassion can be seen through the care of her patients. Millie deserves to be acknowledged for her outstanding duties as a nurse!”
Great job, Millie Milton!
