December 2017 DAISY Award
Maryann Christine “Christie” Oliver, RN – H9 Solid Organ Transplant
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Maryann Christine “Christie” Oliver, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of December!
Christie works as a charge nurse in Transplant/Nephrology and was nominated by a colleague who was moved to her area a couple of hours following shift change. The nomination below describes the positive impact that Christie’s strong leadership skills made not only on her, but all of those in which she had contact that day.
“I was pulled from ONR to H9 at 0830 when a nurse didn’t come for the start of the shift. Christie was the charge nurse for the shift and she made all the difference in my day! When I arrived, she thanked me for coming and reassured me that she would help me catch up since I was already two hours into the shift and just now getting report. Christie helped me find the four nurses who needed to give me report. She helped give meds and she did a peritoneal dialysis exchange on one of my patients. Her active involvement kept things on schedule for the patients. Christie made sure the patients had what they needed, that they were safe, and that they were well cared for. She did all of this with a pleasant attitude and under the watchful eye of a nursing student, who saw an excellent example of leadership that day. Christie is an outstanding team player!”
Great job, Christie!
