Reed Nutter, Transporter in Patient & Guest Services
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Reed Nutter- for being selected as the June BEE Award winner!
Reed is a transporter and was nominated by a UAMS employee. The following is the story of how Reed impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Reed Nutter has been in transport here for several years and I have encountered him often in the hallways and at the nurse’s station. He is always friendly and helpful to everyone, and one of the best transporters we have here. This is not why I am nominating him for this award though. There is one thing that I have noticed about Reed that makes him really stand out. My office on H6 is directly in front of the H elevators. For the last 3 years I hear most of what goes on while people are waiting for the elevators. Most of the time when patients are being transported there is not much conversation, people are scrolling on their phones, or even at time talking on the phone. When Reed is transporting patients, he has conversations with them or their family/friends. He has a smile on his face and is truly listening to them. The kindness that I hear daily from his interactions with patients helps me remember why I’m in healthcare. He sees the patients for what they truly are, people who need to be cared for. I can tell that by the many conversations I have overhead over the years.
Way to go Reed!
Please congratulate Reed for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
