Debra Freeman, Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, Rahling Road Clinic
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Debra Freeman – for being selected as the December BEE Award winner!
Debra is a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist and was nominated by a co-worker. The following is the story of how Debra impacted their life in a way that they will never forget.
Nomination: Deb is a constant reminder in our clinic of the things in life we should appreciate and value. She comes to work and does a number of tasks that are outside of her traditional role as a rad tech in our clinic. We would not be as efficient in taking care of patients without her efforts. Deb takes a particular interest in getting to know patients, and in our Afghan refugee population we serve, has taken the time to request female interpretation services for our female Afghan patients when discussing sensitive topics with the providers in our primary care clinic. She shows genuine kindness and joy on a daily basis and patients frequently comment about how she interacted with them in a way that made them feel seen, heard and cared for.
Our spirits are all lifted by the time she takes and effort she puts into decorating our hallways for all the holidays/seasons of the year. Our pediatric patients and their families enjoy murals in the larger patient rooms that she helped choose and hang up. UAMS and the world needs more people who are selfless, positive, and encouraging team members dedicated to providing excellent service and care to our UAMS patients.
Way to go Debra!
Please congratulate Debra for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
