Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Department at UAMS provides pastoral and emotional support to patients and their loved ones as they deal with the difficult situations surrounding hospitalization. We are committed to treating each patient and their family members with dignity, respect, and compassion.

UAMS Pastoral staff respect the faith and traditions of each patient. Upon request, our staff will assist in contacting the patient’s pastor or representative of their faith community, to give the patient needed support for their individual situation. We recognize each patient and family has their own traditions, come from different cultural backgrounds, and express in unique ways what is meaningful in their life. Chaplain staff respect these differences and seek to provide individual religious and emotional support.

UAMS chaplains are available 24 hours a day to provide pastoral and emotional support to patients, families and staff. If you would like to have a pastoral visit or speak with a chaplain, please contact UAMS Pastoral Care Department at (501) 516‐9120.

The Memorial Chapel

The non‐denominational Samuel Moore Walton Memorial Chapel is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital near the Lobby Café with a non‐denominational service conducted on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
