Traveling to a foreign country can be overwhelming especially when you are traveling to be treated for a serious illness. At UAMS we want to help you through the process of planning your trip as much as possible. We have compiled a list of useful links for your convenience.
Visa Information
The United States entry requirements are the same in all states, with most medical travelers requiring a B2 visa. There are exceptions, as Canadian citizens only need proof of citizenship. Travelers coming to the U.S. for tourism or business for 90 days or less from qualified countries may be eligible to visit the U.S. without a visa. Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. For more information, see the U.S. Department of State’s site.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available for use on the hospital campus. Patients and their families can locate a wheelchair at every main hospital or clinic entrance. If you need assistance finding a wheelchair, please ask at one of our Information Centers or Welcome Desks located throughout our campus.
A hospital representative will happily locate a wheelchair for you, or they will call the UAMS transport team if you need assistance moving from one campus location to another.
Transportation
