What is Sports Medicine?
Sports medicine is a specialty of orthopaedic surgery, as well as a specialty within family medicine. For orthopaedic surgeons, it requires additional training to treat specialized orthopaedic injuries. For family medicine physicians, it requires additional training in non-surgical sports medicine care.
