About Dr. Israel

Clinical Biography

As a non-surgical sports medicine physician, Dr. Michael Israel treats a multitude of sports-related medical issues. He is the only physician in Central Arkansas with board certification in both pediatrics and sports medicine. Dr. Israel earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from the University of South Alabama. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2013. After residency, he completed his sports medicine fellowship training in 2014 at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama under the guidance of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Jody Ortega.

Dr. Israel has provided sports coverage for many high schools and colleges. He serves as the sports medicine advisor for the athletic programs of the Little Rock, Jacksonville, and White Hall School Districts and is a member of the Arkansas Activities Association Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. He currently sees patients in the orthopedic clinic and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Sports-Related Concussion clinic.
