About Dr. Sheehy

Clinical Biography

Cord Sheehy, M.D., is a fellowship-trained pediatric sports medicine physician at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at UAMS. He specializes in providing non-operative care for a wide range of orthopaedic and sports-related injuries and is dedicated to helping young athletes stay healthy, perform better, and enjoy their sport for years to come.

As a pediatric sports medicine physician, Dr. Sheehy is passionate about helping young athletes overcome injuries and return to the sports and activities they love. This includes working closely with athletes and their parents to offer individualized care plans for a successful recovery.

Dr. Sheehy is board-certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.  In his free time, he enjoys connecting with family and friends, engaging in sports, and exploring the great outdoors.

Academic Biography

Cord Sheehy, M.D., is a fellowship-trained pediatric sports medicine physician at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at UAMS. Dr. Sheehy graduated magna cum laude from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine.  He completed his pediatric residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock followed by a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Dr. Sheehy is board-certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine
