COVID-19 Update

Check-in Information

Gastroenterology patients who need to be seen in-person will continue to be seen on the third floor of the Outpatient Center. Please check in at the Solid Organ Transplant Clinic.

Telemedicine Visits

In an effort to keep our patients and health care workers safe, we are offering virtual visits and phone visits for new and existing patients.

Before Coming to UAMS

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, think you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19, you will need to reschedule your appointment.

Patients who have had a COVID-19 infection may have in-person appointments 21 days after infection or a positive COVID test, as long as your symptoms are improving.

Call the UAMS appointment center at (501) 686-8000 to reschedule your appointment or ask if your appointment can be done by phone or video. Please call your clinic if you have questions about coming for an in-person visit.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Everyone who comes to UAMS is required to wear a mask and pass a health screening. You will also have your temperature taken. Please do not remove your mask until asked to do so by a UAMS employee.

Outpatient Visitor Guidelines

Beginning March 3, 2021, one visitor may come to your appointment with you. You may also include others in your appointment by phone or video chat. Visitors must be 18 or older. Some clinics have additional visitor guidelines. Call your clinic for more information if you have a visitation question.

Please visit our COVID-19 resources to learn more about what to expect at your appointment.

About Gastroenterology Clinic

The gastroenterology specialists at our clinic include nationally known experts in the treatment of numerous conditions of the digestive system, liver and pancreas.

Using the latest in diagnostic tools, we can identify and develop a treatment plan for problems in the stomach, colon, esophagus, liver, pancreas, intestines and other digestive organs.

Our hepatologists, or liver specialists, diagnose and treat hepatitis, fatty liver and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, along with other conditions. These specialists are part of the multi-disciplinary UAMS liver transplant program, Arkansas’ only liver transplant program.

About Our Facility

Our 10,000-square-foot endoscopy center includes a gastrointestinal (GI) motility procedure room and a dedicated Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography suite. We also offer endoscopic ultrasound, which allows detailed visualization of the GI tract. The system is the only one of its kind in Arkansas.

Parking is available in Parking Deck 3 at the corner of Cedar and Capitol. Valet parking is available in front of the Outpatient Center for a fee.
