I was referred here to have a EUS done for a tumor in my retroperitoneum. It took longer than I expected to get an appointment for just a consultation. The test will not be for another 5 weeks. In all it is going to take almost 3 months to get this test done. I need the test done so I can travel from Arkansas to Denver to have surgery.

The visit was really good. This is [PATIENT NAME], by the way. My visit was really good. It was thorough. They explained the procedure that they're probably going to have to do. And anything I asked that I didn't know, they were very willing to make sure I understand some of the things and technology that they're using. So, yes. I really appreciate it. Everything went well.

Dr was pulled into in patient service that day and I only found out not in office available to meet with me after I drove 2 1/2 hours just for a consultation to meet him. PA hadn't offered opportunity in advance to reschedule because she "wouldn't want to " if it was her. Why could this not have been done via telemedicine? It was only to determine need for outpatient procedure and no exam was completed. Then after I did my part to come there, I only found out rather cavalierly once I got into the office he wouldn't be seeing me, the PA would. I was there to select my dr for this procedure and now wouldn't even meet him??? I requested she text him to make time to meet with me. She did and so I was ultimately able to wait for him to get there and meet him prior to the procedure in [DATE] will get closer to home if I can. Poor patient communication and experience.

I wish I could have got in sooner, but some of these scheduling issues were my fault I was blown away and pleasantly surprised by the way everyone treated me Upon entering the elevator, one of the executives greeted me and my wife and introduced himself and gave me best wishes despite the circumstances It's been my experience that most executives, regardless of the company or hospital, don't want to be bothered. However, this gentleman went out of his way to make certain that we knew exactly where we were going and who we were seeing. The valet parking was a nice unexpected touch! Dr [NAME]and the nurses are OUTSTANDING! I have 100000% confidence my procedure on [DATE] will resolve my issue. Give Dr [NAME] and his nurses a 100% pay raise! UAMS is a gift from Heaven! We are very blessed with this diamond in the rough and I can't wait for more of these professionals to be added to UAMS in Northwest Arkansas, God bless you all!
