My wife and I were in the tiny exam room. The nurse insisted that I sit on the paper covered exam bench and had my wife sit in the only chair. When the NP came in she sat with her back to me and spoke exclusively to my wife like I wasn't there. My wife kept pointing and telling her to look at me when she spoke. But she didn't. I finally just stood up and moved into her space to make her speak to me. I didn't appreciate this at all. I'm alert, mobile and able to speak for myself. The layout of the room didn't help but the NP was clearly ignoring me.

I felt very disrespected by this provider. I thought I was there because of the massive edema in both legs. She told me she was only concerning herself with my liver function tests. She refused to consider a diuretic because that's how I roll'.
