Patient ratings are not available for this provider. Why not?

Why are there no ratings?

There is no publicly available rating for this medical professional for one of three reasons:

  • He or she does not see patients
  • He or she sees patients but has not yet received the minimum number of Patient Satisfaction Reviews. To be eligible for display, we require a minimum of 30 surveys. This ensures that the rating is statistically reliable and a true reflection of patient satisfaction.
  • He or she is a resident physician.

About Shannon M. Amara-Bangali

Clinical Biography

Shannon Amara-Bangali, APRN is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in gastroenterology. She is committed to providing compassionate, thorough, and evidence-based care for adults experiencing digestive health concerns.

Her clinical focus includes evaluation and management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic constipation, gastroparesis, dysphagia, celiac disease, esophageal motility, achalasia, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and other common gastrointestinal disorders. She also provides follow-up care for patients undergoing diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy and colonoscopy, ensuring patients clearly understand their results and next steps

Shannon believes digestive symptoms can significantly impact quality of life. She prioritizes listening carefully to each patient’s concerns, identifying root causes, and developing individualized treatment plans that are both effective and realistic. She emphasizes patient education so individuals feel confident and informed about their diagnosis, medications, dietary adjustments, and lifestyle modifications.

With a background in surgical and procedural care, she understands the full continuum of gastrointestinal treatment from initial evaluation to procedural follow-up and long-term management. Her goal is to provide clear communication, timely care, and a supportive clinical experience that helps patients feel heard and empowered.

At UAMS Health, Shannon contributes to high-quality, team-based care by collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and procedural teams to ensure safe, coordinated, and efficient treatment for every patient.
