About Walker Family Clinic
At the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute, our experts in the Walker Family Clinic provide outpatient mental health services to adults, ages 18 and up. We offer counseling and psychiatric services in a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, psychologists, neuropsychologists, physician assistants, nurses, clinical social workers and professional counselors.
Disorders treated in the clinic include, but are not limited to the following:
- Depression and Mood Disorders
- Post-traumatic Stress and Anxiety disorders
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (when paired with another primary disorder)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Disruptive Behavior Disorders
- Adjustment Disorders
Services begin with a thorough diagnostic assessment by a licensed clinician followed by an appointment with a psychiatrist, if needed. Based on the findings of assessments complete by our team, patients are provided with an individualized treatment plan and may be referred for further evaluation, consultation, medication management and/or psychotherapy. These sessions may take place at the Walker Family Clinic, in other UAMS clinics or through community providers.
Our providers work with other health-care providers and family members as needed to coordinate recommended evaluation and treatment.
