Meer Akbar Ali, M.D., is an associate professor in the department of General Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology at UAMS. Dr. Ali joins UAMS from Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he practiced as a gastroenterologist. Dr. Ali is an advanced endoscopist experienced in many GI conditions including but not limited to, liver disease, problems related to the pancreas, stomach, esophagus, as well as Dysphagia, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s and Fatty Liver disease. Dr. Ali is also skilled at endoscopies and colonoscopies.

Meer Akbar Ali, M.D., is an advanced endoscopist in the General Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology Department at UAMS. Before joining UAMS Health, Dr. Ali completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences in Dehradun, India. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee before completing a gastroenterology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Dr. Ali is a member of the Fellow of American College of Physicians since 2020.
