About the Pulmonary Clinic
In a continuation of our tradition of excellence, UAMS Health’s pulmonary doctors offer personalized treatment for patients with many types of conditions.
We also maintain the state’s only certified adult cystic fibrosis center. Working in coordination with colleagues in the pediatric cystic fibrosis program, we offer comprehensive care for this chronic, genetic disease.
UAMS’s participation in research to find new treatments ensures that you have the best care available when you choose to use our services. Our caring, compassionate doctors have the latest diagnostic tools for identifying lung and respiratory problems, including:
- Asthma
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Chronic bronchitis
- Chronic lung disease
- Pulmonary embolism
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Pulmonary nodules
- Pulmonary emphysema
We also treat patients who are experiencing shortness of breath, chronic cough, pneumonia and sleep disorders such as sleep apnea. Sleep deprivation can interfere with your quality of life, so we can help if you have symptoms such as snoring or excessive daytime sleepiness.
Critical care expertise extends to inpatient care and critical care consultations of seriously ill patients.
Our resources for testing pulmonary function using state-of-the-art equipment include a complete Pulmonary Function Laboratory. There, full pulmonary function tests, metabolic studies and other assessments can detect the symptoms of lung disease and respiratory problems.
