Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) Children’s Special Services (CSS)
Children’s Special Services (CSS) supports children and youth with conditions that require support and services beyond those of their typically developing peers. Eligible conditions include developmental disabilities in addition to chronic health conditions. CSS provides care coordination services (case management). The program children and youth from birth to age 21, with a long term physical or developmental condition.
Arkansas Parent Advisory Council
The mission of the Parent Advisory Council Inc. is to serve as a liaison between the families of children with special health care needs and existing resources.
Arkansas Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities
The GCDD promotes integration, disability inclusion, and independence for Arkansans with developmental disabilities (DD). The Council’s purpose is to connect people with developmental disabilities to the resources and programs they need to be independent, be productive and be integrated and included in all parts of community life.
The Center for Exceptional Families
The Center for Exceptional Families is a parent training and information center whose mission is to improve educational opportunities for students with disabilities, including students transitioning to adult life beyond high school.
Disability Rights Arkansas (DRA) is the independent, private, nonprofit organization designated by the Governor of Arkansas to implement the federally funded and authorized Protection and Advocacy systems throughout the state. DRA services include information and referral, short-term assistance, technical assistance, legal representation, systemic advocacy, monitoring, and training. DRA services are provided free-of-charge. DRA is independent from state and local government.
Arkansas Special Education Mediation Project
The Arkansas Special Education Mediation Project (ASEMP) is different from other mediation programs in that it is not court-centered. The method for resolving special education disputes is an administrative hearing process. The ASEMP gives parents and schools an alternative. Trained professional mediators assist parties in finding effective solutions to the problems affecting educational services for children with disabilities.
Arkansas Support Network promotes and defends the rights and interests of individuals with disabilities, emphasizing intersectionality and social justice. We work to create an inclusive society by ensuring equal opportunities and accessibility for all, considering how race, gender, and other identities intersect with disability. Our impact includes improved legislation, increased public awareness, and enhanced quality of life. We engage in self-advocacy, peer advocacy, and systemic advocacy, targeting policy and societal changes for comprehensive social justice.
AAROC (Arkansas Autism Resource and Outreach Center)
The mission of AAROC is to provide Hope, Direction, and Support to families of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder through parental support, education and training, and awareness and advocacy.
AIM is a local non-profit organization dedicated to assisting families impacted by autism in Benton, Washington, Carroll, and Madison counties. Our mission is to empower and uplift families impacted by autism by fostering a culture of inclusion and acceptance. Through advocacy, education, and community outreach, we aim to cultivate a society where individuals with autism are celebrated, appreciated, and integrated into every facet of life.
CAYSI (Children And Youth with Sensory Impairments)
The CAYSI Project serves Arkansas children from birth through age 21 who are deafblind, or at risk for deafblindness, and seeks to support the child, their families, and the professionals who work with them. CAYSI supports the philosophy of meaningful access for children with deafblindness across educational, vocational, recreational, and community environments.
Hands & Voices is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families and their children who are deaf / hard of hearing, as well as the professionals who serve them.
United Cerebral Palsy of Arkansas
UCP of Arkansas is a collection of essential programs that help individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities while also supporting their families and their communities. From adult and children’s services to support services and UCP’s enterprises, UCP serves people across the state, providing the support they need to live life without limits.
