As a family practice provider and a mental health provider, I can honestly say I have never been treated like a drug addict until today. Not the resident but the doctor treated me like my condition was completely caused by my medications and my anxiety. All while telling me I needed to cut down on my medications (aka benzodiazepines) and get my mental health under control. Then diagnosed me with a form of tremors caused by medications. Then proceeded to chart they were caused by withdrawal from my medication. My psych medication regimen has been stable for almost 3 years now and to be told it's all pretty much in my head and the inability to work, care for patients, listen to the heart and lungs of patients, suture, write, type, hand coordination, look in the ears of patients, hold my phone, dry my hair, hold a plate, carry something across the room is all caused by a psychosomatic "illness" is very disheartening. Once again I can honestly say I have never been treated so distastefully in my entire life. Unfortunately, I now know what my patients mean and feel when they say " they treated me horrible and like all I wanted was pills and I was a drug seeker." I was very displeased with my experience and will be seeking a second opinion from a more highly qualified neurologist elsewhere.
