About Kathryn L. "Katie" Brown
Clinical Biography
Katie L. Brown, O.D., is an optometric physician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Dr. Brown graduated from Southern College of Optometry Magna cum laude. She performs comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings. She also treats eye conditions such as corneal abrasions, conjunctivitis (pink eye), corneal ulcers and dry eye syndrome. She has additional contact lens training at Alcon Academy for Eye Care Excellence in Fort Worth, Texas, and at the Vistakon Vision Care Institute in Jacksonville, Fla.
She has completed internships at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and The Eye Center in Memphis, Tenn. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Arkansas State Board of Optometry.
Dr. Brown is married to Matthew Brown, Au.D., and enjoys giving back to the community by participating in free clinics around the country and community service projects.

Dr. Brown is my favorite healthcare provider. I HATE getting eye exams, but Dr. Brown makes it a great experience. She makes me comfortable and is warm, caring, and thorough. She saw the beginnings of a cataract starting in my left eye and allayed my concerns about it.
