Chelsea Mathews, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She specializes in both common and complex injuries and disorders of the foot and ankle. active participant and instructor of the Perry Initiative, an organization committed to inspiring young women to be leaders in the fields of orthopaedic surgery and engineering through outreach programs targeting women in high school and medical school and providing them with hands-on exposure and mentoring support to pursue careers in these fields.

The doctor was thorough and provided the information I needed. It was wise of her to have an X-ray done before she saw me. It enabled her to explain to me and to show me the structures of my feet. For me, understanding what my body is experiencing enables me to better deal with what is going on.
