About Orthopaedic Clinic on Shackleford

Aches and pains don’t have to be a “normal” part of aging or the result of injuries. When your discomfort keeps you from doing the things you love to do, it’s time to see one of our orthopaedic (orthopedic) experts.

Our services include nonsurgical and surgical treatment for:

  • Hip and knee
  • Foot and ankle
  • Sports medicine and injuries

Using our unsurpassed level of experience and expertise, our team provides you with the most comprehensive care possible. Whatever your orthopedic challenge, our physicians and staff work together to ensure that you receive complete care, with a personalized approach to your repair and recovery.

What to Expect at Your Visit with UAMS Orthopaedics

Prescription Information

Please ask your pharmacy to send a refill request to our clinic, or you can request prescription refills during your appointment. If you originally filled your prescription at the UAMS Outpatient Pharmacy, you can also refill your prescription online using MyChart.

To speak to a nurse, call the clinic directly.

Appointment Information

Some services in our Orthopaedic Clinic require a referral for an appointment. Please call the clinic to find out if a referral is required before you make an appointment.

Although UAMS does not require a physician referral for some services in this clinic, some insurance providers require a referral for specialty care. Please check with your insurance provider before requesting an appointment.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.

For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.

Telemedicine Information

In an effort to keep our patients and health care workers safe, we are offering virtual visits and phone visits.

This service is available to both new and existing patients. New patients should call 501-526-1046 to schedule a telemedicine appointment, while existing patients should call 501-614-2663.
