About Alexis H. Gershon

Alex Gershon is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Fayetteville native. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in political science from the University of Arkansas, and a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Advanced Direct Practice from UA Little Rock. Alex has experience working in behavioral health, addiction treatment, public policy, and oncology in inpatient, outpatient, residential, and non-profit settings. In addition to her role as a Behavioral Health Consultant at UAMS, Alex currently serves as a Field Instructor and Adjunct Professor for the University of Arkansas School of Social Work. She was initially drawn to become a social worker because it is a values-based profession. Alex particularly enjoys working with women and young adults as well as within macro social work through community engagement, program development, and advocacy.
