One area in which I focus is skin cancers, particularly melanoma. I see patients both within the Dermatology Oncology Clinic as well as the Surgical Oncology Clinic so that I can treat patients from both angles — patients that we can do procedures on in the office and patients that need to go to surgery if it’s more complex.
And for patients with skin cancers, the most important thing you can do — even if you already have had skin cancer — is to wear sunscreen and keep yourself protected from the sun. Any additional sun exposure that you get just adds to any bit of damage that your skin has already seen. So it’s really important to keep yourself protected.
