COVID-19 Update

Before Coming to UAMS

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, think you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19, call the UAMS appointment center at (501) 686-8000 to reschedule your appointment. You may also ask if your appointment can be done by phone or video.

Patients who have had a COVID-19 infection may have in-person appointments at UAMS 21 days after infection or a positive COVID test, as long as your symptoms are improving. Please call the clinic where your appointment is scheduled if you have any questions about coming for an in-person visit. You may be able to have an appointment by phone or video while you are waiting for clearance for an in-person visit.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

UAMS has safety measures in place to protect our patients and employees. Everyone who comes to UAMS is required to wear a mask and pass a health screening before entering the building. You will also have your temperature taken. Please wear a clean mask to your clinic visit, and do not remove it until asked to do so by a UAMS employee.

Outpatient Visitor Guidelines

Beginning March 3, 2021, one person may come to your appointment with you. You may also include a friend or family member in your appointment by phone or video chat.

If you need a wheelchair from your car to your appointment, transport staff may be available at the main UAMS campus. Contact your clinic for more information.

Please visit our COVID-19 resources to learn more about what to expect at your appointment.

About Dermatology Oncology Clinic

The Dermatology Oncology Clinic is the only facility in Arkansas to offer a full range of treatments for:

  • Melanoma
  • Basal cell carcinoma
  • Squamous cell carcinoma

In addition, you may be eligible to enroll in clinical research trials for new and emerging treatment options. Our specialists offer surgical removal of skin cancer using Mohs micrographic surgery, which is an outpatient procedure with one of the lowest recurrence rates of any other skin cancer removal technique.

Your treatment plan is developed by a group of specialists, ensuring that you receive the best in personalized care. And because our physicians are all located under one roof, your number of total office visits is reduced.

Parking Information

Parking is available in Parking 3 at the corner of Cedar and Capitol.  Parking stubs for patients are validated in the clinic.  For your convenience, park on Levels 2B, 3B, 4B or 5B.  Valet parking is available in front of the Cancer Institute for a fee.

  2. Exit the walkway on Level 2B of Parking 3 and you will be at the Cancer Institute’s entrance.
  3. Enter the Cancer Institute and take Elevator D to the second floor or visit the Welcome Desk for assistance.
