About Kathryn L. "Katie" Brown
Clinical Biography
Katie L. Brown, O.D., is an optometric physician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Dr. Brown graduated from Southern College of Optometry Magna cum laude. She performs comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings. She also treats eye conditions such as corneal abrasions, conjunctivitis (pink eye), corneal ulcers and dry eye syndrome. She has additional contact lens training at Alcon Academy for Eye Care Excellence in Fort Worth, Texas, and at the Vistakon Vision Care Institute in Jacksonville, Fla.
She has completed internships at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and The Eye Center in Memphis, Tenn. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Arkansas State Board of Optometry.
Dr. Brown is married to Matthew Brown, Au.D., and enjoys giving back to the community by participating in free clinics around the country and community service projects.

Dr. Brown was upbeat, friendly and very considerate. She had come highly recommended and I was impressed with her demeanor. She was able personalize this first encounter to address my primary concerns and had a plan of care 1/2 through the visit. I can't remember the last time I had had a medical encounter that I didn't leave with unanswered questions. I have already recommended her to coworkers, family and friends. You should be proud to have her as part of your healthcare team.
