Clinical Biography
Corey Montgomery, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in malignant and benign tumors of the bone and soft-tissues in both adults and children. Dr. Montgomery is the only fellowship-trained orthopaedic oncologist in the state of Arkansas and sees patients in the UAMS Health Orthopaedic Oncology Clinic and at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Academic Biography
Dr. Montgomery earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and completed his five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He then completed his fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Montgomery is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UAMS and serves as the residency program director, where he oversees the education and training of the department’s 25 orthopaedic surgery residents. He has received numerous accolades for his medical student and resident teaching at UAMS, including several red sash awards from the UAMS College of Medicine. He was also the 2022 recipient of the R. Dale Blasier, M.D., Residency Education Award in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Montgomery is active within the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, the Southern Orthopaedic Association and the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society. He also served as the principal investigator on several research projects resulting in peer-reviewed research publications.

The two doctors were both very attuned to my concerns and answered questions in a way we could understand. They presented possible options for my treatment, explaining the pros and cons of each and asked what questions we might have as the options were presented. It was obvious they cared about my needs and my best treatment.
