About Dr. Farr
Clinical Biography
Dr. Bailey Farr is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, also known as a physiatrist, who specializes in the non-surgical diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation of conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. She is dedicated to helping patients maximize function, independence, and quality of life following illness, injury, or other conditions that affect movement and daily activities.
Dr. Farr has a particular interest in rehabilitation for individuals with limb loss and other complex physical disabilities. Her background in both occupational therapy and medicine gives her a unique perspective on the physical, functional, and personal challenges patients may experience throughout the rehabilitation process. She takes a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach to care, working with patients and rehabilitation specialists to develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving function and helping patients return to the activities that matter most to them.
Her clinical interests include amputation rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions, functional impairment, and comprehensive rehabilitation care. Dr. Farr is committed to helping patients navigate recovery while providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to their individual goals.
Dr. Farr's Academic Background
Academic Biography
Dr. Farr earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine after completing a transitional-year internship at Unity Health in Searcy, Arkansas.
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Farr earned a Master of Science in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, graduating summa cum laude from Harding University.
During her residency, Dr. Farr served in several leadership roles, including administrative chief resident and resident representative for the Amputee Program Committee at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis. She also co-founded the STL City Amputees Support Group, helping provide support and community for individuals with limb loss.
Dr. Farr’s academic interests include rehabilitation for individuals with limb loss and orthotic management. Her research has included a case series examining the efficacy of a turtle brace orthotic for the treatment of pediatric plantarflexion contracture. She has also presented on topics involving brachial plexus injuries, critical illness myopathy, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and neurogenic bowel management.
