About the Women’s Cancer Clinic — Breast

Hearing the words “you have breast cancer” brings with it many questions and emotions. Our staff understands your fears and has the expertise to help you battle this disease.

Our breast cancer clinic offers a comprehensive evaluation of breast pain, breast lumps and abnormal mammograms. Our team of specialist nurses and doctors are ready to listen to your concerns, evaluate your findings and make competent recommendations — all in a short period of time.

New patients are generally seen within two to three days. A breast biopsy can be done and preliminary results given the same day. Biopsies can be done in our office with only a 1 cm incision required. You do not need to have surgery or be put to sleep.

If you do receive a diagnosis of breast cancer, evaluations and surgical procedures are carefully coordinated with medical and radiation oncologists throughout the state to provide total cancer care.

We also are available for second opinions to confirm the recommendations of your local physicians or give you alternatives from the breast team at the forefront of breast cancer research and treatment.

Should you require breast reconstruction, a surgeon with extensive reconstruction experience is available to see you in the same building as our clinic, reducing your number of office visits.

Additionally, some patients are eligible to participate in clinical research studies where appropriate.
