Outpatient Visitor Guidelines
Due to an increase in COVID-19 patients in Arkansas and across the country, UAMS is implementing new visiting policies for our clinics. Effective March 20, 2020, patients must come to their visit alone, unless there are special needs such as:
- Patients undergoing a procedure that requires a driver
- Minor patients
- Patients in a wheelchair who need assistance
Visitors must be 18 or older and pass a health screening before entering a UAMS building.
About Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic
The Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic in the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging provides primary care for patients who are 65 years and older. We offer the convenience of having most of your senior health care needs in one location, making it unnecessary for you to go to several doctors at different locations.
Our multi-disciplinary team approach is used to provide the unique care that older adults need — care that focuses your health, physical fitness and living situation. You will receive complete and individualized care management from our team of specialists:
- Geriatricians (medical doctors who specialize in the care of senior citizens)
- Advanced practice nurses (APRNs)
- Physician assistants
- Social workers
- Nutritionists and dietitians
- Physical and occupational therapists
How We Can Help
Our social workers can help you understand and select insurance or drug plans, help you resolve caregiving issues and offer advice about long-term care options. Nutritional issues that impact your personal health are addressed by our trained nutritionist. Our pharmacist will review all the medicines you take, including over-the-counter products, to ensure that your medicines are effective.
Providing the best in patient care, our clinic is recognized for excellence as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home.
We provide many specialized geriatric health care services, including:
- Screening for age-related diseases
- Driver safety screening
- Caregiver training and support
- Urgent care clinic
How do I request a prescription refill or contact a nurse from the clinic?
To refill a prescription, please ask your pharmacy to send a request to our clinic. If you originally filled your prescription at the UAMS Outpatient Pharmacy, you can also refill your prescription online using MyChart.
To speak to a nurse, call the clinic directly.
Parking is usually available in front of the building between Cedar Street and Jack Stephens Drive. If the parking lot is full, please use Parking 3.
The Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic is a self-referral clinic. Although UAMS does not require a referral for this clinic, some insurance providers require a referral for specialty care. Please check with your insurance provider prior to requesting an appointment. Medicare and most private insurance plans are accepted.
Please call (501) 686-8000 to request an appointment. Or, use MyChart to schedule an appointment online.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.
For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.
UAMS MyChart is a patient portal that gives you free, secure 24-hour online access to your health information. You can see your lab and test results, send messages to your doctor, make appointments, refill prescriptions and pay your bills.
